PROJECT V - "THE JOURNEY"
CLDS 4G, in the municipality of Faro, is called Triangular Footprint. It started on 6th July 2020 and lasted 36 months, ending on 5th July 2023.
The promoter of this operation is the Faro City Council and the Local Coordinating Entity for the Partnership (ECLP) is AIPAR - Associação de Proteção à Rapariga e à Família.
The operation is part of AXIS 2 - Family and Parental Intervention to prevent child poverty, implemented through compulsory actions.
Reduce school absenteeism and develop personal and social skills that motivate learning.
Develop skills such as reading, writing, math, new technologies, and other competencies through the concept of travel.

The realization of these actions implies the involvement of partners, whenever possible, to find solutions to the different problems faced by the people involved, and promote the inclusive growth and development of the territories.

To take children and young people out of the camps, showing them other realities .
Methodology: Concept of travel (interests, desires and imagination of children/young people);
The involvement of beneficiaries in the different stages of the "The Journey Methodology" will increase their interest in discovering other contexts. The activities in preparing for the trips allow them to practice reading, writing, mathematics; new technologies and the acquisition of skills (citizenship) , bearing in mind the guidelines of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma Communities (2012 – 2020).
Experiences with children/young people to access other social contexts , some that the participants wish to explore and others proposed by the team. The starting point will always be the context, knowledge and skills, taking advantage of existing potential and human and cultural capital.
A multidisciplinary team: law, economics, communication, social sciences, who will act as reference points in different areas of knowledge in order to inspire the children .



Recipients
The target audience for this project is children and young people between the ages of 6 and 18 who live in the camps of Lejana de Cima, Braciais and Cerro do Bruxo, in the municipality of Faro, Portugal.
These communities, predominantly Roma, face significant challenges related to school absenteeism.

Awareness-raising activities which, through expressive and entertaining sessions, aim to train entrepreneurial skills in young people aged between 12 and 14;

Discussion of financial, personal, and family challenges associated with life plans.
Conflict mediation sessions (role-playing, debates, simulation of situations brought by the participants)
